Another black tea with little yellow slivers in-between, stems at first sight.

Aroma and taste: i couldnt get the idea of kiwi and unripe bananas out of my head after first smell.
So i couldnt come up with anything else

It reminded me of a japanse black teas. But i could only remember one of there names.
Takachiho benifuki from @hotsoup but i remember that being more floral.

Looks like a standard black tea.
Aroma: a char of meat or baked beans together with some umami. There was also something reminiscent of toasted pumpkin seeds but all very faint.
. 
Taste: only roast and the beans returned to my palette
The liquor had a strange pink hue.

In general a daily drinker the only special thing was the color. Yesterday i started strong but today i had no clue 😅.

Now i want to share something amazing. 😁
My gf made me a tea advent calendar (or tree) with random teas from my 200+ tea collection.
And of course other than brew parameters she made it into a taste and guess game 😅

So nr1
Green ball rolled oolong, just by sight and light roasted smell i would say taiwanese oolong.
. 
Aroma: so many spices! A sharpness of roses and a soft umami background.
. 
Taste: balance more towards flowers instead of the spices but overal the same palette.

Very very good choice to start with!😋
My guess was spring Pear mountain oolong from @mountain_stream_teas
I remember buying the 4 season tasting set in 2019 🤔

Completely forgot that I still had this little treasure. Last friday, before starting my home office, day I chose my tea of the day. I found my first aged oolong ever. This amazing aged tgy from meileaf.

Aroma of coffee, moka, vanilla and violet candy
Taste: more coffee, spices, sweet cherries and oak.

I love aged whites so let's if this hits me in the right place.

Aroma: raisins, peach trees and for some it reminded me of a bakkery. I think it pairs amazingly with those round raisin puff pastries we used to have on Sunday morning.
.
Taste: first some sweetness combined with a wooden tartness giving a sensation of fruit like raisins or plums. When the taste lingers on it transforms to some kind of fruit and nuts cake combination.

Maybe I am just weak for aged white teas but this one is again amazing 😜.

Aroma: sweet floral and fruity aroma, hints of melon and osmanthus and last a pinch of nutmeg.

Taste: the balance change towards a little bit more grass and broccoli. Flowers has been simmered and changed a bit to camomile.

Aroma: brown sugar, burnt chocolate cake and and a dark wood.

Taste: fresh toasted bread slightly sweetened with burtnt sugar.

I would combine this with a sweet breakfast because summing what I tasted reminded me of French toast 😅

My favorite was the typical green😋.

White: aroma of hay and straw the taste was a bit more bitter than usual white tea, which gave it more of a bite.
.
Green: BI Luo Chun for is green and there is a reason this just the best of the 3. Aroma of a spring time meadow with sprouting flowers and creamy off egg yolk.
The flavor wasore focused on the green or grass and green vegetable flavors but with a nice background of roast.
.
Black: aroma if malt, it reminded me a bit of marmite. Taste was again malt but sweetened with some burnt caramel leading to the desire for chocolate😅.
(maybe I just wanted chocolate )

Aroma: soft balanced aroma of flowers and fruit with an background of soft grass and hay notes.
Reminded me of spring where the flowers are blooming and the fruits are ready to be plucked. 😌

Taste: in top of the soft notes from the aroma the taste profile added butter and minerals.

Aroma: heavy roast reminds me of cacao, cigars but also roasted pecan nuts.

Taste: very similar but a bit more balanced to the cigars. The empty cup afterwards smelled like cinnamon 😋

Love Rou Gui in general and this was a good one!

I have never heard of the camelia taliensis so I needed some researching to do before I wanted to post this.

Taste: a very levelled and balanced warm. It was difficult to find outliers directly but after some intensive tasting we came up with walnuts because a nutty sweetness combined with something that resembles the minerality of that nut. Maybe some herbs but that was difficult to pinpoint which ones.

Medium roasted Wuyi tea but smells surprisingly floral. The aroma was somewhere between a heavy roasted Wuyi rock oolong and a floral Dancong.

Taste gave a little more what om used ti from Wuyi rock oolongs, like roasted nuts but the main flavor was floral.

Aroma: very green, grass and vegies

Taste: reminds me of typical Anxi tie Guan yin but with a different balance, slight spice notes such as cinnamon and brown sugar but very strong on the vegetables almost like green asparagus and green beans

I had a discussion while back about taste/flavor/aroma what is the difference?
For me aroma is the experience of the nose, flavor of the mouth and taste is the combination. What do you think?

Aroma: sweet, pine nuts, hay, mineral, little high pitched fruitiness
.
Taste: very mineral, on the edge between stone and metal. Immediately the sensation of higher alertness and calm hits your mind.
Then I found some more hay and again some faint sweetness.

I never had a shou puer with this much flavor.
Aroma: a bit fishy, black earth
.
Taste: I was happy that the fishy aroma was gone as soon as the leaves where wet. The taste was very strong and mainly cigars and black earth. The flavor or mouthfeel was also very mineral, you could almost feel the stone minerality flow threw your teeth.
.
This is a good shou. Definitely for people who look shou in general, it packs a great punch of all tastes you want.

I had a special session with @teaadventuresdotnet I had a special session with @teaadventuresdotnet this Monday. For a while now, I had a set of aged tieguanyin oolongs from Master zhang @verdanttea
. 
I wanted to taste the evolution of time in a single sort of tea so this set has: special grade Qing Xiang 1985, normal 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005
The special is a non roasted aged oolong al the others are roasted
.
We started from old to new an noticed a trend. The oldest tea has some black pepper, earth flavor and in the background some spices like clove, cinnamon or nutmeg, the younger the tea, the more the balance changed from pepper and earth to more sweet spices like cinnamon, vanilla and caramel or butterscotch. The perfect balance and sweetest tea was from 1995.
2000 and 2005 teas had only a part of the sweetness and almost nothing of the earthiness left.
.
The conclusion is that with ages first comes sweetness and then earth but probably specifically for this tgy. The sweetness is also heavily influenced by the roast as all the roasted teas where sweeter. This was the ideal after 24 years of waiting. 😅🤔
